ASME B31J (R23)

Overview:

ASME B31J-2015 aims to provides a standardized method to develop the stress intensification factors (i-factors), flexibility factors (k-factors), and sustained stress factors used in B31 piping analysis.

The draft B31J provides detailed calculation for flexibility factors, branch and header flexibilities, SIF values and some commentary on experimental results.

The incorporation of such flexibility factors aims to provide a more realistic behaviour of the model, specifically for models with tee components.

As ASME B31J is still in draft phase, we have done our independent verification of our analysis results.

This feature is issued as early preview of the technology in AutoPIPE v11.0 for ASME B31.1 and B31.3 piping codes and will be commercially available in a later release after official release of ASME B31J.
