    03. Why was ASME Sec.III NC (edition 1977) Winter Addendum added to AutoPIPE?

    Applies To
    Product(s): AutoPIPE
    Version(s): ALL;
    Environment: N/A
    Area: Piping Code
    Original Author: Bentley Technical Support Group
    Date Logged
    & Current Version

    Problem:

    Why AutoPIPE doesn't have ASME Sec.III NC (edition 1977) Winter Addendum?

    Considering 1978 Winter addendum provisions, are there any problems in using a different code year?

    Solution:

    There was no documentation available that indicates any reason why or if an enhancement was logged against adding ASME Sec.III NC (edition 1977) Winter Addendum to the program. Code addendums are rolled into the next edition. Therefore, suggesting that the 1978 Winter Addendum would be covered in the next Piping code Edition after 1978, e.g. 1980 + 1980 Summer addenda.

    Suggest that the user review using ASME Sec.III NC 1980 + 1980 Summer addenda to see if it covers their requirements.
