Problem:

How to Copy / Paste Beams using AutoPIPE?

Solution:

There are some limitations to copy pasting beams that need to be established:

1. The base point of coping items must be on the highlighted selection, otherwise an "E521-22:  Base point is not on selected range" message is displayed.

2, Pasting operations has many powerful features if used correctly

Scenario #1: Copy beam above B03 to B02 and B01.

Step #1:  Select Beam (ex. Id = 1001)

Step #2: Select Copy command, Base point is Beam Node point ( ex. M1) directly above the pipe.

Step #3: Select Node points where beam are to be copied too (ex. B01 and B02)

Step #4: Select Paste command, "Apply offset from selected points or origin", enter known distance from pipe to beam (ex. 3 feet). and press OK button.

Step #5: one!!!

Now lets see that in action:

How easy was that? in less than 30 secs copied pasted 2 new beams with anchors and connected supports.

Scenario #2: Copy beam above MANY pipe locations

Using the same technique as mentioned above, except Step #3 is expanded to cover multiple node points.

Lets see this in action:

Again, how easy was that? in just a few moments 32 new support beams with anchors are created in the model.
