    Problem:

Are seismic force applied on structural elements as well as pipe in an AutoPIPE analysis?

    Solution:

Yes, AutoPIPE applies static seismic forces (E1 through E30) on to beam members. AutoPIPE also applies seismic forces to beam members when they are applied as Response Spectrum or Time History load.

    Remember by default:

    a. Static seismic loads defined in the model are applied to all pipes and beams node points. There are no specific setting to control this

    b. The self-weight of the beam would be part of the Gravity case results.

    c. SAM analysis, loads are applied to supports as impose support displacement.
