The following warning message appears in AutoPIPE, why and how to avoid it?
W2164-181:B31 App J: The following tee(s) contain a primary or secondary node on the branch leg
within the outer diameter of the header and will be analyzed as a non-B31J component:
As indicated by the message, the model contains a node point on the branch run piping that is equal to or less than the outer diameter of the tee's run PipeID properties.
Example.
Tee Header pipe: 12" std wall pipe, tee node point is A05
Tee Branch pipe: segment B, 12" std wall pipe, first node point on branch piping, B01, is 5.5" away from the tee node point A05.
Question, for the example above, will the warning message be displayed or not?
Answer: Correct, the warning message will be displayed because the first node point on the branch piping should have been more than 6" (Header OD / 2, 12"/2 = 6") away from the tee node point A05.
If node point occurs at or below the surface of the header pipe it should be move beyond the header surface or deleted.
