Problem:

When piping code = ASME ND and modeling HDPE pipping with ASME CC N-755-1 (HDPE) feature enabled, does the program consider the PipeID cold allowable when calculating "S" for both Eqn. 3131.1 and Eqn.3223.1

Solution:

Short answer: What are your Stress Summary settings.

The stress summary has a drop down listing for the user to select what temperature is to be used when looking up the "S" value. Possible selections from the drop down listing are:

Design - Uses Node point Design temperature when cross referencing the allowable in HDPE 2011  Table 3131-1 or table -3223-3

Ambient - Uses Node point PipeID cold allowable

MaxT - Uses Max Temperature across all load cases T1...TN when cross referencing the allowable in HDPE 2011  Table 3131-1 or table -3223-3

T1...TN - Uses selected load case temperature when cross referencing the allowable in HDPE 2011  Table 3131-1 or table -3223-3
