Installing

Step #1:
Create a new folder on the desktop (ex. \Patch),

Step #2: Open email from Bentley and select the link to download the patch to the folder created in previous step.

Step #3: Open folder on desktop where patch was saved too, should be a single ZIP or EXE file.

Step #4: If needed, using any archive software (ex. 7zip..), unzip contents to the same folder.

Step #5: Refresh and View the names of files in this folder (ex. ap_mfc.dll, autopipe.exe, etc..).

Step #6: Open AutoPIPE installation folder:

 ex. AutoPIPE CONNECT V12.. install folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\AutoPIPE CONNECT v12

Step #7: For each of the files in the folder above, first locate the corresponding file in the installation folder, change the name of the file by adding "test_" to the beginning of the filename

ex.

ap_mfc.dll --------->  test_ap_mfc.dll,

autopipe.exe --------->  test_autopipe.exe

Step #8: Copy / Paste all the files from the downloaded folder to the AutoPIPE installation folder where the files had just be renamed.

Step #9: Start AutoPIPE, select Help> About, confirm Patch update has been installed, and then test new patch to make sure that the reported problem has been fixed.

Step #10: In some cases, it may be necessary to reset user's profile using steps here.

Step #11: Regardless, reply back on the SR email to report all testing done on the new patch version. Does the new patch fix the reported issue? Development needs to know.

Step #12: Again this is a patch version, the user should update to the next commercial release once it becomes available. The fix in the patch version should have been incorporated into the newest commercial release.

Note: On some computers the update may be blocked by security settings. Right click on the each of the files copied into the installation folder and confirm that the security setting Unblock is enabled (checked ON).
