"Use Resultant Method" setting in AutoPIPE

Item #1:

Max step method("Use Resultant Method" unchecked) doesn't seem to evaluate Equation 9 stress correctly.

Answer:

When determining the Maximum Time Step, AutoPIPE uses Equation 9 using the Time History Moments only. Gravity moments are not included when determining the maximum time step. This procedure allows AutoPIPE to take in to consideration the section modulus, stress indices, and magnitude of moment values for the time history load combination to determine maximum time step.
