If a version is missing from the available download listing, this means that it has been Archived. A newer version of the software is now available, and the older, outdated software links are removed from the listing.
Why would a user / company prefer to use an older version of an application instead of taking advantage of the newest version that includes new enhancements (see release notes) and fixes to known issues? AutoPIPE's latest version has the ability to open all models created by older versions, and the ability to save models back to a previous version format. In addition, the newest version of the software includes the most recent Piping Code updates and most of the legacy code years that may be required by project documentation to analyze models. Project documentation should list the piping code required for analysis instead of the software version number.
Users are urged to review BENTLEY's SUPPORT POLICY for the impact on using older software. Note that technical support for All Bentley V8i (Earlier SELECTseries) and earlier application versions takes effect July 2019.
If you still wish to download older software, please use the following procedure:
a. File a Bentley Service Request asking for a specific version (8-digit number). Also, provide a reason why you are unable to use the most recent version of the program that
b. Bentley Technical Support tasks:
i. Open the new Service Request submitted by the user.
ii. Confirm the account has a valid maintenance agreement in good standing.
iii. Request written approval from the application Product Manager
iv. Request written approval from the Account Salesperson
c. An email will be sent to the user with response to their request for older software.
In some cases, older software will not be made available. However, IF an exception is made, a link will be provided for the user to download the requested software. The user can then install the software as documented.
