Each time AutoPIPE Vessel is started, the application will display the AutoPIPE Vessel Licensing splash screen as shown below, unless the "Show licensing on startup" (lower left corner) check-box is disabled.
Select a single radio button:
Depending on your licenses available in the License Management Tool, select the appropriate AutoPIPE Vessel Edition radio button.
Demo:
After installation, AutoPIPE Vessel will run in Demo Mode until it is properly authorized. To ensure compliance with the terms of your purchase agreement, a security system is utilized. All software authorization for new Bentley products is handled by the Bentley Security Manager.
When Demo mode is selected the program will NOT allow the following commands:
- Save the model
- Use Calculate Strength
- Generate Drawings
- Perform Cost Estimation
- Add-on codes
These features are only available in the full Vessel or Vessel Enterprise licensed version.
Again, users can create any type of vessels in the UI but they cannot be saved, In addition, users can open an existing model in the UI, but you cannot run Strength Calculation.
Trial:
A Trial License with full-feature access is available for first time users of AutoPIPE Vessel. Please contact your Bentley salesperson to request a trial license. The Bentley Salesperson will provide you an authorized trial activation key with instructions on how to use it. Place the trial key file in the correct folder, enable the Trial radio button above, and enter the key EXACTLY as indicated in your communications (careful not to add spaces before or after the key).
If invalid key entered the following message prompted: “Server does not support this Trial Key”, try reentering the key again exactly as it appears. If message continues to appears contact Bentley Licensing for assistance.
If trial key field is empty and press the OK button the following message prompted: “No Trial key provided. Please enter a Trial Key”, enter a valid trial key before pressing OK.
If the trial license is selected, but expired, a warning dialog will appear, contact Bentley Salesperson for assistance on length of trial period.
On switching the license from Trial to another other license, the ‘AutoPIPE.trial’ file having the license key will be deleted
Vessel:
Only a limited amount of the program features can be used, see link here for features available / not available with this level of licensing enabled.
In addition, only one free vessel Add-on code is also provided with this level of licensing (user to specify on contract). Additional Add-on codes can be included to the contract, talk to Bentley salesperson for details and pricing.
Vessel Enterprise:
All program features and Add-on design codes will be available with this level of licensing, see link here for completely list.
Indicated Add On codes
Only those codes with a green light next to them will be available in this session of using the program.
Example of green lighted item:
Codes with a non-green color indicator, will NOT be available for use in this session of using the program.
When selecting :
- Demo radio button, no Add-on codes will be available.
- Trial radio button, one or more Add-on code will be available, confirm availability in LMT.
- Vessel radio button, one or more Add-on code will be available, confirm availability in LMT.
- Vessel Enterprise radio button, all Add-on codes should be available, confirm availability in LMT.
Notes:
1. Grayed out text
Meaning - item cannot be used at this time because additional requirements have not fulfilled.
Example: "Vessel" radio button is unchecked and "Vessel" text shows as being grayed out, This occurs when Vessel license is not available in LMT (License Management Tool).
#2: Add-on Codes are NOT green and text is not grayed out
Meaning - Add-on codes are present in LMT but are not allowed for use in modeling at this time.
option 1. Select Vessel radio button, one or more Add-on codes should now turn green.
option 2. Enable Vessel Enterprise option as all add on codes are automatically available with this license selection
option 3. Open LMT, select the "License Checkout" tab, search listing for all available AutoPIPE Vessel License(s):
Only those license listed here will be available in License Configuration dialog.
If item is missing from listing above, contact your Bentley on-site Admin to confirm "no check out restrictions" are in place for your product or contact Bentley License department to confirm possible missing products on contract.
#3: Add-on Codes are green
Meaning - only codes that are green can be used in modeling at this time.
