Note: user MUST sign into Connection Client in order to start licensing an application. Otherwise, user will have 7 days grace period from initial installed date or date or last successful sign in date. Otherwise, application will revert to DEMO mode. Only exception would be if license was checked out.
users can sign in with their Windows logins instead of maintaining separate Bentley credentials
(if you see your Profile page you are already signed in, manually sign out and try the link again).
Step #1: Restart the computer.
Yes - this may sound trivial but please perform this action.
Try signing into Connection Client after the computer has finished start-up.
Continue to Step #2 if still unable to sign into Connection Client
Step #2: Try to signing directly into ims.bentley.com, are you able to sign into this site?
Yes - problem with signing in is directly related to Connection Client, continue to step #3 below
No - issue is related to your IMS account information, contact Bentley or file a Service Request for Web Assistance mentioning unable to sign into IMS.
Step #3: Reset the application by locating the application icon in the tool tray, right click the mouse on the application icon, and Exit the Connection Client service, the program will automatically restart in a few moments, and then try to sign in again.
Note: If the easy reset method above does not work, use only one of the following approaches:
Manual Approach
Open Task Manager> Details Tab> End task the following processes: Bentley.Connect.Client.exe and Bentley.Licensing.Service.exe. Other
Automatic approach
Got to WIKI here, and follow instructions to download the file, rename to bat, and run bat
Restart the application from the Windows Start menu and try signing into Connection Client again.
Continue to Step #4 if still unable to sign into Connection Client
Step #4: Download and install latest edition of Connection Client
Compare version in Release Notes here with application version number currently installed on your system.Update if needed.

Step #5: Deleted all temporary internet files, cookies, caches (google instructions for your browser application)
After deleting the items above, now try to sign into Connection Client.
Continue to Step #6 if still unable to sign in.
Step #6: Confirm that list of domains here that the CONNECTION Client needs to access in order to sign in and activate your SES applications.
Contact your internal IT to ask that you're allowed to access domains mentioned above.
Step #7: Confirm company network and firewall does not block Connection Client's read / write ability.
