    Problem:

How are bend radius calculated when importing a PCF file into AutoPIPE?

    Solution:

PCF Translator calculates the radius from Bend End Points. PCF Translator gets the distance from Endpoint1 to center point and then from center point to Endpoint2

Draw bend in any cad program:

AutoPIPE will create a bend with the radius = 3.75.

Typical 45 deg bend dimensions are

Equation for a long radius bend, approx. ~ 1.5 x Nominal Dia.

Regardless, the bend radius used by the program for a 6” – 45 deg bend is 3.74 inches.

Once the radius is calculated then based on the information available in the help file, it is converted to Long, Short, 3D or 5D.
