Answer:

A boot in AutoPIPE Vessel is inserted as an opening in the shell similar to a nozzle and the boot component itself. So when a boot is inserted, you will go through both a component dialog and a shell opening dialog. The steps to insert a boot is listed below.

Click on Insert a Component button () or go through the Insert > Component command in the menu.

Select the Boot component from the upper left drop-down list. Insert the diameter and length of the boot shell from the centerline of the vessel shell to end of the shell of the boot.

Click on the Materials tab and assign the materials you would like for the boot. Click OK in the Component Properties dialog.

The Nozzle Properties dialog will pop up for the shell opening of the boot. Here is where you will input the location of the opening just like you would with a nozzle. Input your location.

Click on the Materials tab and assign the materials you would like for the boot. Click OK in the Component Properties dialog.

Click on the boot in the 2D sketcher and right click to bring up a pop-up menu with options. Select the Insert a Copy command and select the After Selection command on the 2nd pop-up menu.

Select the Elliptical head (or whatever fits your design) component from the upper left drop-down list. Select the proper Axis ratio for your head.
