This document contains key pieces of information for licensing any Bentley software not just AutoPIPE.
1. CSS number
2. Invoice Number and Date
3. Customer number
4. Remittance information
A CSS is a program where you pay Bentley in advance. This money goes into a Bank. As you use any Bentley software, in excess of current contract quantities that would generate an invoice, money would be withdrawn from this bank to cover those costs.
Scenario:
User currently has 3 licensing of AutoPIPE on an Bentley Open Access account. A new project was started where 3 licenses are not enough and 2 more licenses to be added to the account for a short period (ex. 2 months). A CSS account is set up to cover additional cost of 2 additional AutoPIPE licenses. The company pays this invoice up front and is drawn down as usage occurs.
Note,
1. strongly suggest to enable licensing Alerting (OFF by default) for the total licenses to be used at any one time. IF an additional person tries to use the software, a warning would popup alerting them to the current count and also notify Bentley On-site Administration (if desired).
Also at the end of the CSS, strongly advice to reduce the Licensing alerting back to the contract quantities.
2. CSS Balance, at this time, there is no location on Connection Center to confirm CSS balance. User are advised to contact by phone / email Bentley Collections / Invoice department to ask for their CSS balance.
