Problem:

How to envelope Spectrum Load files while using AutoPIPE?

Solution:

Using AutoPIPE' command search utility, search for "Envelope (Loads > Spectrum > Envelope)", and open the dialog. If this is your first time using this command, highly recommend to press the help button on the dialog to see specific detailed information on all of the features available for this commend.

As mentioned in the help, The Envelope command allows the user to envelope up to 30 spectrum file names. Therefore, a prerequisite for using the Envelope command would be to generate a number of Spectrum files (*.SPC), see AutoPIPE help for instructions on how to generate Spectrum files.

Again start the Enveloped command, if this is a new enveloped spectrum enter a name while adhering to the naming convention mentioned in the help (ex. ALL). Next decide settings for both "Use sampling" and "Freq/period increment". Once more, if unsure of these settings refer to the program help information. Afterwards, select drop down arrow, choose a Spectra file to be enveloped, and enter a scale to be used for that spectra file when enveloping. Add up 29 more spectra files to be enveloped by this file.

Finally press OK button to generate the Enveloped file.

To use this newly generated file, open the Response Spectrum dynamic load dialog, press the Define button on any given Case No. row, specify spectra for the given direction, enter a scale value, and press OK. Repeat as needed for other axis direction and support group number.
