* * * W A R N I N G - MODEL * * * W2164-147:B31 App J: SIF values for the tee(s) below are not valid, as the ratio of branch mean diameter to run mean diameter is greater than 0.6
Why and How to avoid it?
This warning refers to a values required by ASME B31J to perform the analysis. Take a moment to open ASME B31J code and review the Table 1-1 Flexibility and Stress Intensification Factors AND review the referenced NOTES in code (hint, pay attention to the type of tee and their respective notes, welding tee does not adhere to note 10, where all other type of tees do).
As mentioned, so long as the ratio value is greater than 0.6 the warning will appear. The ratio value must be 0.6 or lower for the warning message to disappear.
Avoidance:
Open the tee dialog, select the type of tee from the drop down selection, and update any values as necessary. Or, open Tee input grids and adjust values as needed.
