Problem:

Steps to repeat:

Using AutoPIPE Vessel 43.00.00.121

open attached model

Double select Nozzle N1 to open dialog

Select the Material tab

Notice that the Ambient properties and Design properties are all blank. No values are being displayed.

Change UNS no from K02100 to K02200, notice that all properties are shown

Change UNS no from k02200 to k02100, notice that all properties are again blank.

If starting a new model this issue does not occur.

Material library properties appear to be ok.

Appears to be a corrupted model. How does a user reset a corrupted model like this to correctly show material properties?

Solution:

This dialog to ask the user to update the material database has might not be validated:

As the material database has been updated, materials which are not updated while opening with a new release are corrupted.

Use one of the 2 solutions below

Solution #1:

1. Go into the vessel properties, change the material year,

2. Validate the dialog.

4. Come back into the dialog and reset the material year.

All materials are updated.

Solution #2:

Log a Bentley Service Request containing the user's model. The development team will use specialized software to modify the model's database in order to reset the date. Next time that the modeled was opened; "Material Update Requested" would appear. Selecting Yes on this dialog would resolve the issue.

Appears to be a corrupted model. How does a user reset a corrupted model like this to correctly show material properties?

Solution:

This dialog to ask the user to update the material database has might not be validated:

As the material database has been updated, materials which are not updated while opening with a new release are corrupted.

In this case, a service request was logged and the user's model was modified to pop the "Material Update Requested" dialog when opening the model. This resolved the issue.
