Answer:
Please review WIKI here first.
Quick answer:
The first 3 significant parts on both the AutoPIPE QA software and AutoPIPE ATS software version number, AA.BB.CC.DD, should match exactly. The last part, DD, is the build number and is updated every time a new build is created. The ATS package in general goes through lesser number of cycles than the main program so may have a different DD number but first 3 parts AA, BB, CC will always match.
Detailed answer:
If not already known, AutoPIPE QAR and AutoPIPE ATS are 2 different applications that have separate installers. The actual versions installed from the DVD provided by AutoPIPE's QAR department can be verified by going over Windows Add / Remove programs listing of currently installed applications.
With these software versions numbers in mind, please open AutoPIPE's ATS documentation, ap_ats.pdf. In this document review the Purpose section, Contents Provided, and Installation Procedure
This information will always refer to the AutoPIPE QAR version number using all 4 parts of the number, AA.BB.CC.DD. However the ATS application will only be referenced using the first 2-3, AA.BB.CC, parts of the version number.
Most may already know, but repeated here, AutoPIPE's ATS application is nothing more than a simple interface which provided instructions to AutoPIPE, and then reports a comparison of results. Thereby the ATS software does not require nearly the same number of builds as the complete AutoPIPE QAR application. Thus the last part of the version number will be different.
Lastly, know that AutoPIPE ATS is not a QA program. The only QA program is AutoPIPE QAR.
