Q. Is this a valid PCF file that can be imported using AutoPIPE's PCF translator?

Answer:

Perform Test below:

Step #1: Open the PCF file using any text editor (ex. Notepad++, UltraEdit, MS Word, etc..)

Step #2: Click here, sign into Bentley Communities, download example PCF file, extract the Zip file, and again open the PCF file (WalkThru.PCF) with the any text editor.

Step #3: Compare the file structure of the file in step #1 to the file structure in step #2,

(see bottom of page for example comparison).

Question: Is the File structure of the files from Step #1 and #2 nearly the same?

If Yes, then continue by importing the PCF file into AutoPIPE using one of the following methods:

            1. From with in AutoPIPE, select File> Import> choose any one that has (PCF) at the end of the name.

             2. Select Start> Bentley Engineering> AutoPIPE Translator> PCF translator> PCF translator program

After the PCF translator application opens, see online help for details about the dialog.

If No, AutoPIPE's PCF translator is probably unable to import the PFC file. In order to create a legitimate PCF file that is similar in structure to the one in Step #2, users are advised to get in touch with the technical support team of the application that was used to generate the PCF file in Step #1.

Note, For manual and details on the PCF translator file structure and mappings, see wiki here
