Problem:
How to model directly buried hot water pipes with AutoPIPE?
Solution:
Start by modeling the piping arrangement with the correct pipe properties and operating conditions (i.e. Pressure and Temperature case) as needed. Select the subterranean portion of the piping arrangement model and enter the appropriate soil values for that section of pipework. Next, keep adding loads to the model as necessary (e.g., wind, Static earthquake, etc.). Lastly, configure the settings for both Dynamic Analysis and Static Analysis set, analyze the model, go over the findings, and iterate the design as necessary.
