Can I install any version of AutoPIPE (6.x, 2004, XM, V8i ) on any Operating System (ex. Win 8) ? What version of AutoPIPE is compatible with, authorized to run on, or able to be installed on Windows 8 or other higher versions of Windows
Each version of AutoPIPE is thoroughly tested on various Operating Systems, OS (Win 98, Win 2000, Win XP, Vista, Win 7, Win 10, etc..). In addition, in order for the application to be certified under our QA program it must undergo additional testing and documentation.
Recommend to review the read-me or "readme_autopipe.htm" file to see what OS a particular version of AutoPIPE has been tested on.
This does not mean that the software cannot be run on another operating systems not specified in the readme file, but that it has not been tested/certified by the CAE development team to be installed on another OS. The user can try to install the application on any OS. However, Bentley cannot be held liable for results or provide technical support for installation of AutoPIPE on untested systems.
If you do encounter an issue with the program that is install on an untested OS, please log a service ticket providing system details, screen shots, and a brief account of the problems encountered. The CAE development team is always trying to improve new versions of the application for our users. However, in most cases, the development team will not make any modifications to older AutoPIPE versions that people are trying to install on a newer OS not listed in respective version read-me file.
