Where to download AutoPIPE's ATS for version xx.xx.xx.xxx?
Answer:
Are you arpart of the QA pogram?
IF no, the only options: a. use the ITS (see here) or b. become a QA member, contact Joanie Mayberry here, requesting instructions on how to join the QA program. All QA accounts are sent a DVD containing all the software.
IF yes, thank you for being apart of the QA program !!!, In that case, be advised that a DVD containing all of the software was sent to the company's appointed contact listed on the form 6-1-2 (Contact Personnel for "QA & Reporting" Subscriptions). IF you do not know who that person is please contact Joanie Mayberry here, request that information. If the DVD has ben lost, request a new DVD be sent from Joanie to the contact person.
I am trying to locate the reference information for the equations used to validate the AutoPIPE software as stated in the ATS documentation. "THEORY: Refer to the AutoPIPE Reference Information in the AutoPIPE Online Help, for details on the equations used by AutoPIPE for calculation of stresses."
Furthermore can you send me the copies of the mathcads sheets showing the hand calculations for a specific model?
Typically, the reference equations can be found at the following AutoPIPE help section:
Help > Contents> Contents Tab> Reference Information> Code Compliance Calculations> select the correct piping code.
The overall objective of this ATS is to provide a means of validation for the AutoPIPE computer program to analyze and produce accurate results for a variety of piping models as installed in a specific operating environment.
The accuracy of AutoPIPE is verified by Bentley during execution of Alpha Tests, which are performed prior to any Commercial or Quality Assured release. Alpha Tests consist of a matrix of test systems designed to capture key feature attributes related to numeric and functional processing. Each set of test outputs is compared to a prepared set of expected results (i.e. MathCADs, hand calculations, some other well established computer program etc.), and evaluated for acceptance. Only those people who are part of the QA&R program have a right to access Bentley's facility in Walnut Creek, CA for the purpose of QA audits or inspection to verify the implementation of our quality assurance program. Only during the audit can QA&R user have access to all the references mentioned above.
I was running the Acceptance Test Set of AutoPIPE Nuclear 9.4.1.5 on our Technical Server and the Error Log showed differences we did not find when installing on our Personal Computers.
The fact that operation ran flawlessly on your system tells us that the AutoPIPE and ATS installation are working correctly. Also, tells us that something is wrong with one of the following: your log in access to the Technical server, missing files, server communication, etc.. Your IT department should be able to assist you compare folders, access rights, and Read/Write folder settings. When logging a service request please be sure to supply all the information about your computer and the server computer.
AutoPIPE: model missing from ATSDuring review of the AutoPIPE ATS document (ap_ats.pdf), some models (ex.QA 262-6.dat) are missing and are not listed in the Test Set Execution Status Matrix
Models that have "*" at the end of the nameTR Number: NoneProduct: AutoPIPEVersion: allArea: GeneralProblem ID#: 71089
In the AutoPIPE ATS document (ap_ats.pdf), just before "Description of Acceptance Test Systems", is a note that reads"
" * These test sets are not part of the published Acceptance Test Set Manual."
The ap_ats.pdf lists all the models that are part of our QA&R testing. However, not all these models are available in the ATS. So any models listed in the "Test Feature Cross Reference" part of the document with an "*" next to the model name is not available in the Automatic test set.
Accounts that are signed up as Q&AR have an extra privilege to visit the CAE group facility in Walnut Creek, CA. to review all of AutoPIPE's models, documents, and calculations. This is by appointment only. Please see the following WIKI site about QA&R subscription details.
The ATS Test Features Cross Reference includes many entries with asterisks with a note at the end indicating that these test features are not part of the published ATS manual. Are these non-included test features available to users?
Models that have "*" at the end of the name
Please note the manual indicates the following:
The ATS is performed to verify the results of the application for a given piping model subjected to program features, load conditions, and settings. In order to reduce the amount of time required to run the actually ATS analysis, and the overall size of the ATS document (i.e. ap_ats.doc). Certain models (i.e. marked with an "*" astric) were purposefully left out of the ATS document available to the general public. However, know that the CAE development testing includes the entire listing of models mentioned in the Acceptance Test Set. The results of these test are available for viewing to only QA&R subscribers at the Bentley Office in California.
AutoPIPE is installed with all the features listed in the online help, it is the selected edition of the program that controls what features are available to the user.
To answer the question directly, Yes, all the features tested in the ATS are available in the program, however you need to have the correct edition enable / licensed to use a specific feature reserved for that edition.
After running the ATS the log shows some discrepancies for certain test files. What is considered acceptable messages in the error log file?
After successful installation of the AutoPIPE V8i SELECTseries 4 ATS, a desktop shortcut to the ATS program group containing five new icons would be created:
1. ATS Documentation - detailed document about ATS program.
2. ATS Readme. - general technical data about the application.
3. Read1st.ATS.
4. Review AutoPIPE ATS Results in Error.log.
It is vitally important before running an ATS that all user read these documents.
Note: under the "ATS Documentation", "RECOMMENDED VERIFICATION PROCEDURES", step #6:
"Note that there will always be a few differences captured in the log file. These differences are due to the date/time stamping of the analysis files which are captured in the Analysis Summary sub-report produced for several (but not all) of the test systems. Also, there may be minor numeric differences, refer to the Acceptance Criteria section for further details."
In addition, see "Appendix B: AUTOMATED SYSTEM PROCESSING MATRIX" of the same document:
The following table lists the test systems executed by the Automated System Processing Method for each AutoPIPE edition ( Standard, Advanced, Advanced + KHK, Nuclear, and Nuclear + KHK).
Therefore depending on your application license and computer one or more of the following may occur:
After running an ATS, the log file shows "Error - Cannot find File" message for every model, why?
Confirm that user has full read and write permissions to the ATS folder location.
How soon will the ATS be ready for AutoPIPE version xxx?
It takes a considerable amount of time and effort to produce an Automated Test Set: new model creation, new supporting Mathcads, updated documentation, updated software, Certifications, etc.. Therefore not every AutoPIPE version released will have an associated ATS. The QA manager will send out notification to all QA subscribers when the ATS and documentation are completed, typically 1-3 months after a new version of AutoPIPE has been released.
Furthermore, the ATS software version must match the AutoPIPE software version mentioned in the documentation. You CANNOT and must not mix the versions of these applications as it will void the test. As an example: cannot use AutoPIPE V8i 09.06.00.19 to run AutoPIPE ATS 09.05.01.02.
QA&R subscription users are urged to contact the QA Software Quality Manager for details on estimated time of arrival for their software shipments. They are tasked with performing all the testing and distribution of all software to QA&R user.
What is the list of currently available ATS versions for AutoPIPE:
As of June 2021, current list of ATS or QA versions available for AutoPIPE are:
As one can see, not every version of AutoPIPE has an ATS created. The ATS may take 1-3 months after a release of a new version of AutoPIPE to before being released. Check AutoPIPE's Help> AutoPIPE News RSS news feed for notification. One perk about the QA&R program, all QA&R user are automatically notified.
Non-QA users:
Non-QA accounts are not entitled to the full AutoPIPE QA ATS, however
ATS documentation used to specify <1% difference in output comparison, and now it specifies <2%. why that changed?
Apparently, this was an inconsistency between our SVVP and the ATS document that was corrected for the 9.5.1.5 QA&R release in 2013. Our SVVPs have always stated this tolerance level as 2%. See below snapshot from an SVVP dating back to 2009.
