The following ASME B31.3 Enhancements and Defects have been logged for inclusion into a future version of AutoPIPE: Note: if an enhancement has not been added to the program, log an Service request for that enhancement. The more requests logged per an enhancement, the quicker the CAE development team will add that feature to the program.
Development Project: TBD
Description:
It was determined that a change in the support lift off logic for the non-linear analysis engine was altered in 10.0, which introduced an inaccurate check for displacement for B31.3-2014. (see details here)
Steps To Reproduce:
1. Open model
2. Create multiple analysis sets (B31.3 -2014)
3. Run analysis. Note that there is at least one lift off warning
4. Open Support output report. Note that under all vertical stops and vertical guides, forces are in the -Y direction
Avoidance:
The warning serves no other purpose than to alert the user to a support lift off. The Show Support Lift-Off report under Results menu still works properly as the logic is independent of the analysis engine. There will be an issue for ASME B31.3 2014 models containing an analysis set with remove lift-off supports option checked. This may produce overly conservative results, if not correct results. Again, this is only affects AutoPIPE CONNECT 10.00.00.10,
Development Project:
This defect will be corrected in AutoPIPE CONNECT Update 1 to be issued in early March 2016.
Description: Add ASME B31.3 2014 edition, and any associated relevant changes, to AutoPIPE.
Development Project: 09.06.03.xx
Description: AutoPipe to incorporate minimum temp warnings per figure 323.2.2B(ASME B31.3) Therefore give the user a warning based on input temps if the piping in the model falls below the allowable curve that would require impact testing for lines.
Description: ASME B31.3 2010 edition uses axial and torsional SIFs when calculating Sustained stresses. The default values for both the SIFs are 1.0 in absence of more applicable data. This enhancement will allow the user to be able to enter Axial and Torsional SIF values using the User Joint & SIF dialog. These values will be used in sustained stress calculations.
Development Project: 9.6.0
Description: The Allowable Occasional Stress depends upon the Tcr values of the material used defined in the library instead of the operating temperature. The Online help for "Use Alt.Occ.Allow" does not have the table for ASME B31.3 2010 and only includes table for B31.3 2006 and before.Development Project: TBD
Description: Add fatigue analysis for thermal, pressure and wave and dynamic loading.
