When trying to open a AutoPIPE model the following occurs?
---------------------------Error--------------------------- E962-1: File read error, please contact BENTLEY---------------------------OK ---------------------------
AutoPIPE stores the last saved model as a systemname.BAK file. Rename the *.BAK file extension to *.DAT and try to open the file in AutoPIPE.
In addition, all Undo files are saved as a U**. Try to rename one of these files to *.DAT and open wit AutoPIPE.
If the program crashed you may still have a chance to recover your files by using the following procedure.
Select Start button
In the field just above the button type in "%temp%, and press enter key.
This will display your temp folder, look for a folder called "AP_09xxxx" open this folder to view the files within.
Note: This folder contains temp files used by the program. When a file is closed by the program, it will automatically remove these temp files. If AutoPIPE is currently closed, no model is open on your system, these represents instances where AutoPIPE may have been closed incorrectly or system crashed where these files could not have been automatically removed.
Search for a folder with the correct system, and open the folder.
If there are files with, move the entire folder to a safe location, and try to open the AutoPIPE DAT model. Otherwise use the steps above to rename any BAK or Uxx files and open them for review.
If successfull in recovering a file, with it still open in AutoPIPE, save the file to the correct working directory location typically used for AutoPIPE models.
If the model will still not open up, please zip up the entire directory, create a Service Request on Bentley's web site, and send the file for review.
Note: If AutoPIPE is closed, no model is currently opened, you may delete the AP_09xxxx folders from the %temp% location mentioned above.
If message above was displayed while trying to conduct a dynamic analysis, check the files to be sure that they are properly formatted.
Example.
If trying to perform a Time history analysis, message was displayed, Upon inspecting the TIH and THL files it was discovered that the 1st line was blank. According to the AutoPIPE help the first line always contains information. Simply removing the blank line, saving the file, and now the Time History analysis is completed without displaying the message above.
