After installing AutoPIPE 09.05.xx.xx and lower the shortcut for License Tool Management is broken.
---------------------------Missing Shortcut---------------------------Windows is searching for LicenseTool.exe. To locate the
file yourself, click Browse.---------------------------Browse Cancel ---------------------------
This issue occurs if AutoPIPE 09.05.xx.xx and lower is installed for the first time on a computer that never had the application installed before. These versions require that another application already be present during the installation, Bentley IEG License Service. As a result if AutoPIPE 09.05.xx.xx and lower is installed before Bentley IEG, then when AutoPIPE is installed, the shortcut for License Management Tool is left blank. This is the problem.
For people who are installing AutoPIPE 09.05.xx.xx and lower for the 1st time, must install Bentley IEG licensing services first and then install Bentley AutoPIPE.
If after installing both programs the Start> menu group> License Management Tool link is broken, there are only 2 solutions to fix it:
Solution #1: Manually fix the shortcut
A. Perform a file search on your hard drive for "LicenseTool.exe" and record the full pathname to the file.
B. Using the mouse, goto Start> menu group> License Management Tool, and Right click on the Icon shortcut.
C. Select Properties from the displayed list.
D. On the Shortcut Tab, update the Target and Start in data accordingly
Solution #2: Automatically fix the link by uninstall / reinstall AutoPIPE
A drastic approach but full proof to automatically fix the shortcut, uninstall / reinstall AutoPIPE V8i 09.05.xx.xx and lower.
