Overview

To label the Spool ID in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, both through OpenPlant/AutoPlant way. Various syntax can be achieved using the attributes of OpenPlant Isometrics Manager and with 'User Labels' option through Isometrics configuration dialog box

Problem Description

Requirement was to achieve the Spool ID label with syntax like LINENUMBER-NUMBER/LETTER of a spool. Matching attributes can be used to customize the 'Pipe Spool Labels' option present under 'User Labels' node in Isometrics configuration dialog. Below are the recommended way to achieve it.

Steps to Resolve

User can customize the Line number labeling under ‘User Labels’ option present in Isometrics configuration dialog box. Currently under ‘Pipe Spool Labels’ it has been defined as $(SPOOLID).

  1. Launch OpenPlant Isometrics manager.

  2. From Isometrics Configuration dialog box, open seed file using ‘Advance’ option.

  3. Using ‘IsoExtractor’ option click on ‘Cell Creation tool’.

  4. Open ‘Annotation’ DGN file to edit the SpoolID table.

  5. Under Notes table, copy SPOOLID cell below the table. Delete the Text Spool: from the box.

  6. Place fence around the box and save the new cell to custom.cel.

  7. Save settings and close cell template DGN file.

  8. From ‘User Labels’ tab rename the pipe spool labels Spool: $(LINENUMBER)-2$(CUTID).

Note: Also using one extra '$' marks you can change the row of it. In below referred link under 'See Also', it has been explained.

  9. User can use only those attributes, which are present under 'Show Component Tag'. See below for reference. While writing the labels, it is always good to check those attributes and define it accordingly to avoid any mistakes.

  10. Save Settings and generate isometrics and verify results. See below image.

Note - Also to Notice, if a component does not have any CUTID then it should not display here.
