Open Plant Modeler / Spec generator: Valve with flanges connecting with slip on Flange including bolts, nuts and gasket

I have a problem how to automatically integrate slip
on flange (collar + loose flange) with bolts, nuts and gaskets when placing a
valve (ball valve etc.) with flanges or wafer valve (butterfly valve or check
valve for example). What are the settings must to have so that slip on flange
with bolts, nuts and gasket automatically appears to design? I know that
setting AutoFlange must be set ON, so that flanges are coming to design. I have
done it like that but slip on flanges does not appear. Maybe it needs some modifications
in catalog where slip on flange exists?

I have got flanges with bolts, nuts and gaskets by using Lap Joint Stub End. My opinion is that it is not the right one when modeling loose flange with collar. At least loose flange looks very strange for me. In a picture below I have taken Lap Joint Stub End. After that I changed loose flange iwith PAINT software to show to show how this connection must exist.

This is how I want valves (etc.) with loose flanges with collar to look like:

One questions regarding collar for loose flange: how
can I get collar diameter connecting to pipe equal with pipe outside diameter. Diameter is now something strange (more than pipe OD) with decimals.
How can I have butt weld mark between collar and pipe?

    For placement of auto flange, below are the two way you can do with flanges. 

    A. Using AutoFlange table: - Enabling this option will place the valve without counter Flanges if there is no entry in it. However if you select and enter the size in AutoFlange table option using specification generator, it will deliver the spec grid with the selected flange to choose to pick the flange. See image below for your reference please.



    Below are the details you could find it from help file menu. Also see image below for quick reference.

    B.With No AutoFlange function:  Placement of WNRF on valve by default is being done by the Autofitting Rule set in ‘AutoFittingRules.xml’ files available in the default system folder - C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlantModeler V8i\WorkSpace\OPModeler\System. You can modify the first entry on WNRF and set the LJF entry first. See image with default and with the changed settings. 



    After modification: You need to add the End prep to LJ flange like shown for WNRF.

    However on loose flanges with Hub thickness, it is being calculated 2XFLG_TH_M value present in spec. I will check the possibility and update you on this. This will only affecting the graphical representation.

    On Collar dia is equal to Pipe OD and weld are also coming correctly by following above method. If you provide some steps to reproduce then we could be able to assist you further.

  • Hi, I am now using MiSt CE and I have a problem with text input method. What does this 3:0.5000 (red circled) mean? Where I can chenge input configuration so that I am able to input 3.5 (lie earlier)? This appears where text height is needed (dimension style, text editor etc.)
