Visual effect should be same in AECOsim and OPM.

HI,

I using OPM from last one year. Now days I'm using OPM pipework modelling and AECOSIM Using for Structural building and Concrete slab.

In AECOsim when I view makes as Illustration>default mode it looks very nice. It shows material attached with Part and family of Element. (See attached Image-Aecosim)

In OPM at time of pipework route I attached AECOsim files. When I view makes as Illustration>default mode it is not shown material attached with Part and family of the Element. (See attached Image-OPM).

I should see the visual effect same both in AECOsim and OPM.

Anyone one have solution on this issue?

  • If you publish the model as an i-model *.i.dgn from AECOsim it will write the materials assignments from the associated Family or Part to the element and this will be embedded in the i-model.
In your case you have opened directly DGN file with OPM. My guess is that your DGN file from AECOsim contain the Part or Family definition which references material assignments for visualization. In OPM you don't have those material palettes meaning that model representation is limited to the 'model' symbology - shows only colour and not a material.
