OPIM & ProjectWise Title Block Syncing

So I followed the tutorial "How To Feature Microstation Tags and AutoCAD Attributes" and there is no titleblock syncing tool (keyin).  Any idea?

Here is the document that I followed:

  • Hello Andrew,
Thanks for reading this. Could you please describe which part in this section do you have a problem? Are you talking on Subtitle D point 7?

  • Rahul,

I have the attributes mapped through PW and OPIM seed file (by defining it as a tag), OPIM inserts the text per textnodes.txt into the ISO. The step I am having issues with is, getting that attribute into PW. Is there a command that you "pushes" the information from the ISO into PW? The document references a microstation "keyin" that is TITLEBLOCK UPDATENOW, step D:2. Thank you for your assistance.
  • Keyin "titleblock updatedms" will write attributes to PW if thats what u want to do.
  • Hello Andrew,

These key in's are coming from Microstation. Make sure in Project Wise explorer you have desktop Integration supported for Microstation.

Let me know if that helps!

  • Rahul,

So I followed the steps in the tutorial stated above, but what I am trying to do is get the attributes into ProjectWise from an AutoPLANT OPIM session. What steps (could be basic outline) need to be completed to get this to happen?

So far I have done the following, with no sucess:

    - Added new Environment on ProjectWise server with attributes (through ProjectWise Admin)
    - Through Attribute Exchange Rules in ProjectWise Admin, created MicroStation Title Blocks
    - Change "MicroStation Title Blocks" Properties to update on all (4) file conditions
    - In Isoseed file for OPIM style, added TextNodes (to use textnodes.txt file), defined a Tag Set with all attributes same names as Exchange Rules above
    - "Attached Tags" for each of the tags within the Tag Set above
    - Create a new Cell with all "Attached Tags" from above
    - Deleted original "Attached Tags" and placed NEW cell create in above step
    - Updated ProjectWisemap.txt file within ISO Style for OPIM with <pw tagset name>.<tag name> = <drawing attribute>

When I update PW attributes nothing gets synced automatically. Still do not have the ability to do the KEYIN suggested above, nor the install that you are referencing, since I don't have Microstation installed on this machine (nor would I when we roll this software out).

Is there something I am missing here? Thank you again for your time.
  • Hello Andrew,

We are in discussion with development team. Will soon update you on this. Key-in seems to be a bottle neck part on this. I have to check it.

    Hello Andrew,

The issue with title block update has resulted in Defect 290855 for the service request 7000402577. However, we have a workaround to get the synchronization working. Please follow below steps.

A.) Copy attached PW.cfg file to:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\OpenPlantIsometricsManager V8i\OpenPlantIsometricsManager\config\appl.

B.) Open the Iso and update the title block by Projectwise Menu > Title Block > Update Drawing

C.) Open Isometrics and see the new attributes are updated

    Regards

    Dinesh
