Is PDS 3D model (*.dgn file) compatible with “PlantSpace 3D software (08.09.04.52) & Vice-versa?

Hello, 

Yes you could use PDS/Plantspace model in OpenPlant Modeler. PDS Data can be managed in OpenPlant Modeler using PDx Manager. Check below link for more help.

Also for Plant Space data, OpenPlant Modeler provides an option to migrate the data, which user needs to opt during OpenPlant Modeler installation and can be migrated by performing some customization. This has been described in help file menu of OpenPlant Modeler.

Let me explain my requirement. We have client working on creating 3D models using Bentley Plantspace Design Series software.Portion of model will be created by us using a software (either open plant software or PDS) and generate *.dgn file. My worry is our 3D model (generated from open plant) will be compatible with plantspace software and vice versa.

As I came across ,Open Plant software is updated version of PlantSpace Design Series software. If so ,whether 3D model generated from Open Plant software will be compatible with Plantspace design software.

I'm not much bothered on intelligence of model.

Hello Sudheer, 

OpenPlant Software is not an updated version of PSDS, we can say it is a newer generation software which support PSDS model to be run in OpenPlant Modeler using Migration and customization. Similarly Using PDS model, it can be taken in to OpenPlant Modeler.

However OpenPlant 3D Model cannot be taken back to PDS/PSDS, as it is not a supported Workflow of OpenPlant Modeler.
