We use Additional Material to represent some special items, for example, insulation kit gasket. However, in OPIM by default, additional material just showing in iso image like a message text and it is not listed in BOM. By adding an ADDITIONAL_MATERIAL class in Isometrics Isoextractor schema, currently, additional material item is listed in BOM now but always under Field Materials, also Part ID of it display randomly in ISO image - some times in the air, some times no where.
Anyone know a fixed of it?
Hello Maggie,
There is a Wiki article which will help you get 'Additional Material' under correct section. Please see below.
http://communities.bentley.com/products/plant/design___engineering/w/plant_design_and_engineering__wiki/20996.to-display-additional-material-information-in-drawing-and-reports-for-openplant-isometrics-manager
Also, could you let us know what version of AutoPLANT Modeler and OpenPlant Isometrics Manager you are using?
Regards
Dinesh
Below few steps can you used to get your requirement.
1. Add a new class name 'Additional material' as below image
2. Copy Custom attribute from class 'Pipe elbow'
3. Paste Custom attribute on 'Additional material' class
4. Delete existing attribute in Specific Bom labels and add new attributes as below
IE_FIELD_EXT will enable additional material to be shown under shop material
5. Define user label as below
6. See results
Hope this helps!

Hi Dinesh,
Thanks for looking on this issue. I follow your segustion to added specific BOM labels, and the description part works fine, but not shop_field. I have tried assigning a fixed value "0" or a formula "IIf(this.SHOP_FIELD = "SHOP",1,2)" to IE_FIELD_EXT, but with no luck.
Part ID also is not working either. Have you try additional materail on a little bit more complex pipe line, such as have more than 4 components. My tests show that when more and more components are in the pipe line, additional material part ID floating in air further and further, sometimes disappear
Also, when I have too few components in the pipeline, tee and elbow on two ends of an existing pipe fall to field materials while they should be shop.
Please see attached images, they may explain better
Thanks,
Maggie
