Hi there,
I noticed this question still hasn't been replied to by anyone at bentley. Same old story of plantspace holding us up using the latest Microstation.
Also noticed that triforma has been dropped so now as we only have Microstation/Triforma and Planspace licenses we can't use the tools like DEM as we can't have a V8i triforma installation. Would be nice if we could install structural but i suspect Bentley would be on our case to buy a license for that as well even though we wouldn't be using any of the structural tools.
I guess we wait the months that it will probably take to see any software that we have licenses to use.
Cheers
Andrew
Hi Mike,
Bentley have been pretty open in saying there will be no PlantSpace for V8i with their efforts going into the Open Plant product. I believe the P&ID component is already being beta tested as we speak. Noy sure 100% on other dates, but it will be interesting to see how things go once it's released.
So is it like a name change?
Is there a diagram somewhere, to make sense of it all?
Does that mean there will be no Autoplant?
Jeff
Jeff,
I believe, from the meetings we've had with Bentley, that it's the next generation on from PSDS with many changes. I'll see if I can dig up a few things for you as it seems this one hasn't been seen my B yet.
Have a look at :

Bear,
For the time being it should have been possible to use the Plantspace with the V8i application graphics engine. I do not understand why it is so dificult to transfer Plantspace under V8i. All other triforma based applications like BA , STF mechanical systems etc are already under V8i. This new "Openplant" version may be released after 2 years.
