HI,
I know Bentley have AutoPLANT Object Enabler V8 for Navisworks.
Let me know if Bentley have OpenPlant Object enabler for Navisworks?
I also want to load data tool from file as well like autoplant datatools links
Thank you

I'm seconding Rakesh's and Shannon's queries. Although I agree Navigator and View would be the internal tools to view models, we have had several clients ask for the the models to be viewed in Navisworks. Importing the dgn's or using a neutral file format is fine, but the metadata/intelligence is lost.
The closest I have found to getting the meta data out is in this article, but it's a little light on the back end details...http://beyonddesign.typepad.com/posts/2017/01/how-to-get-improved-data-from-dgns-from-aecosim-into-navisworks.html
I'm hoping that in 2 years since this was posted, a solution has been found?
Hi Austin,
Long time no hear eh. There is pretty much no easy solution to this one. We have done almost exactly what the beyond design article has suggested except we are exporting the data to mdb rather than excel. Navisworks data tools then hooks into the mdb to import the metadata. Keep well cheers for now
So your question below kind of answers this question. There are so many tables in the iModel to have an excel spreadsheet or multiple tabs for each table is not practical so that's why we go mdb. Also you can simplify or format the data using queries before passing it into Navisworks which is handy.
Yes to cherry picking, to much data otherwise it gets confusing. Yes using the element IDs to link. Just remember to create the nwd as per the instructions in the beyond design article. Otherwise the element id you are querying gets buried in sub elements of a graphic.
Awesome, thanks. Good luck to me
Thanks Shannon for extending your help here and sharing the experience.
Thanks Austin on participating here and hope you have clarified your doubts.

Turns out if you use Navisworks 2020 and turn on the Beta File loader option, you don’t need to do anything else(not even the Data link exercise) and you can see all the properties there. Please note that its still in Beta version and will be included as a feature in next releases as per AutoDesk

HTH,
This is great news! Thanks for sharing!
I did test this and some not all the properties came through into Navisworks but most of the graphics dropped off.
We have a guy here testing it as well down in our S America office. The trick apparently is to modify the managed workspace pcf file (i.e. OP_Modeler*.pcf) and add the line MS_PUBLISHDGN_CONVERTTOXGRAPHICS = 0. We have never had an issue with the graphics coming through, but the meta data is still spotty. Still, we have around workaround to get data into the Navisworks file using DataTools. Still testing...
You are a champion, thanks Austin!!
Thank my counterpart in South America, but we aim to please
