How can I get the flow direction arrow on isometric in OPM?
Hi Jayant,
You can place flow arrow from the notes tool as shown below.
Once the note is placed, create iso-sheet and publish I-model. Load I-model in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager and generate isometric. You will see flow arrow as shown below.
This topic is covered in the help file as shown below:
Hope this helps!

Hi Ray,
In OpenPlant Modeler, length of flow arrow is calculated as 1.5 x Nominal Diameter of pipe. So, for 200mm pipe, flow arrow length would be 300mm and similarly flow arrow length for 100mm pipe should be 150mm.
In order to accommodate flow arrow in piece of pipe so that it can be oriented in both directions, the minimum length required is 2 x Flow Arrow Length or 3 x Nominal Diameter of Pipe.
Is there somewhere in the schema / cells / settings where this can be changed, for what we are doing and others, to limit the pipe length like this makes placing arrows hard at times?
Using the formula above for a DN500 pipe
Flow Arrow Length = 1.5 x 500 = 750mm
Minimum to allow flow arrow = 750 x 2 = 1500mm or 3 x 500 = 1500mm
In many cases we have piping where it is mainly fitting to fitting with lengths of pipe shorter then 1500mm, the result is we cannot place flow arrows on the line.
Due to this we have to manually alter the Isometric to show a flow arrow, not desirable for an automated system.
Thanks
Ray
