Air Gap to Free Air

Hi Eric. The file you want is actually CAT_Virtual_Connection_Descr_EN.xml. You will want to change the

<Naming PartDescription="Virtual Connection" ExtDescription="Virtual Connection" />

line to

<Naming PartDescription="Free air" ExtDescription="Free Air" />

How is it that this is called "Air Gap" if what I would be changing is called "Virtual Connection"?

Where inside the software is it called "Air Gap"? It is called "Virtual Connection" on Raceway Router and in the BOQ reports.

Its shows when naming a segment of raceway and this ID also shows in Reports.

Ok, thank you for the clarification. What is seen on Raceway Router and in the Description field on reports is set by the CAT_Virtual_Connection_Descr_EN.xml. The raceway ID value is set by the SPEC_AutoRouter.xml file. I will check to see if it is ok to modify the latter.

Matt have you been able to determine if changing the SPEC_AutoRouter.xml file is ok?

The developers said that the value in SPEC_AutoRouter.xml was not intended to be changed, and they cannot guarantee that air gaps will always be recognized as such if this value is changed. So we cannot recommend changing that file.

I previously noted "What is seen on Raceway Router and in the Description field on reports is set by the CAT_Virtual_Connection_Descr_EN.xml." That leaves the raceway ID seen on reports, and you could consider using a BeforePrint script to replace "Air Gap" with "Free Air" in the ID column.
