I'm trying to change our dimensions to have ticks rather than arrows as the arrows overlap and do not look good. In the seed file, I go to: Element > Dimension Styles, and I update the settings accordingly but when I run a test iso nothing changes. That is typical for any changes I make here. It's like it's lost its link or there is an override in place? However, If I modify settings through the "Isometric Configuration" dialog box these setting do take effect when I run a test iso.

Thanks for your reply. We use V8i select series 5.
This unfortunately didn't fix my problem. My issue is that any of the settings I change do not take effect.
I have since discovered that if I make the changes, close the dialogue box and reopen it the changes are still made. However, if I close the dialog box and save and close the seed file and reopen it the settings are back to default?

Have you tried Save setting before exiting Seed file? Just to make sure all changes made are saved properly.
As you mentioned, change are not getting saved to seed file, I suggest here to open Seed file from Isometric Manager configuration.

For some reason, its working now. If I save the changes in the Dimension Styles dialog box before I activate it, then save the seed file and generate a new iso it works. Maybe before I didn't follow that sequence. Thanks for your help!
