Wacky spool numbering with latest OPIM: What are the settings to duplicate the behavior of Isogens (before the rug was pulled out from under us on that)?

What are the settings to achieve the exact same spool numbering as Isogens (OOBE with last version before it was pulled), using the latest version of OPIM/AutoPLANT OOB?

Thanks,

Jonathan

Edit: I used the guide here:communities.bentley.com/.../how-to-enable-openplant-isometrics-manager-to-read-autoplant-spool-number which sadly yields no spool numbers at all, so a little bit worse than standard OPIM. I am still interested in duplicating the out-of-box spool numbering of any of the previous versions of AutoPLANT with came with Isogens, if anyone has any additional ideas. Thanks again.

  • Thanks for the reply! Can you go ahead furnish me with a copy of your configuration which does this? I followed the guide verbatim and the results were disappointing. Have you actually seen this work, or are you merely suggesting that it should work? Again, I appreciate your reply but I will not be bending over backwards to screenshot out-of-box configuration results, which should be readily available or known to anyone who is supporting this software, so please do not suggest this anymore. I have filed a service request. Thanks anyway.

  • Hello Jonathan,

Thank you for information about your issue while fallowing this wiki and our AutoPLANT Team will try to find out what is not right. Regarding OOTB ISOGEN Spool numbering, this product is deprecated and discontinued with no Support as of June 24th 2016. We are not working with not supported applications  It would be very helpful if you could add to created service request a detailed information about how it was on your ISOGEN isometrics, that we could try to find how to achieve same in OPIM.

Thank you for your collaboration with us.

  • Thank you for your reply. Yes, we are aware that you no longer have or support Isogens- software for which you will notice I'm not requesting support, but using as a comparison for how OPIM should function in terms of spool numbering. We have a ticket open, and I understand they are looking into this now, perhaps for the first time. By the time the output from OPIM is examined more thoroughly, screenshots from your older and more functional software will not be necessary to understand why it is broken. Simply put, the spool numbers should be unique per line number, sequential, and not count items that aren't spools. Thank you for looking into your OPIM product- it has some issues that have been missed in QA (assuming there is a quality assurance process in place).

    Thanks,

    Jonathan
