OPM SS6 - Problem with Diaphragm valves

Hi all,
I have two problems when I use the diaphragm valves..
The first :
When I enter different values for Ctr End_M and Ctr End R it does not work.
The valves I want to install have different dimensions from the axis to each end.

The second :
When I give different ends to a diaphragm valve, for example BW / TC, in the 3D model the valve is modeled as a BW valve when I should see a BW / TC valve.

  • Hi Salim,

There is no possibilities to have two different dimension from center of valve. You can think of creating custom component and assign the value to it.

Can you elaborate other requirement with some example, what you have done to get two different end condition. Is there any changes in schema as well?

  • Hello Rahul Kumar,

I can not make a custom valve because this project uses a lot of diaphragm valve with a first End_Cond BW and the second End_Cond TC, which gives a valve that has Ctr_End_M different from Ctr_End R.

What I did to get two different end conditions
In my catalog, In the table VALVBW, I added my diaphragm valves (I was tested in the VALVE table).
In the column End_Cond_1 => BW
In the column End_Cond_2 => TCM

  • Rahul is talking about creating a CustomComponent script using dotnet, to match your requirement. But what i understand from your explanation is that you are trying to define a different CTR_END_M and CTR_END_R because your end preps are different. Please note that the End Preps have no effect on these 2 distances because these are measured from port locations.

Do you want your graphics to look like this? With this red rectangle meaning the extra length added to either CTR_END_M or CTR_END_R?

What should happen to the square plate in this case?

BTW can you please let us know what TC is mapped to in your schema/spec? TC= Threaded?

    Thanks,

  • Hello Rahul Kumar, Gaurav.Gundecha,

    My need is the following:
Place the diaphragm valves with Ctr_End_M different from R and Ctr_End End_Cond_1 (BWT) different from End_Cond_2 (TCM).
    See Attachment.
