In AutoPLANT when running a BOM, the Quantity dimensions (cut lengths) are in inches, but the actual dimension given is not correct.
For example if a pipe is drawn in at 100", the BOM is listing the cut length as 3 15/16" while the properties of the pipe are showing the correct length.
Our assumption is this may be some sort of units issue. It does not work out exactly as a division of 25.4, but it is close. If you take 3 15/16" * 25.4 you get 100.0125". We are thinking the difference is a rounding issue. We have looked everywhere and cannot find anything. This is a fresh install on a new computer of the current CONNECT versions. Any ideas of where to look would be greatly appreciated.
Hello Paul,
Thank you for posting your query on Bentley Communities forum.
Are you facing this issue in Imperial unit or Mixed Metric unit ?
Regards Abhijeet Shinde
We are starting the drawing under Sample Imperial.
We have tested on our side it working fine.
Could you please check Style.cfg variable Set it to, IE_FMT_LENGTH_ACCURACY = 1
Hope this helps. Looking forward to your reply.
Regards,
Abhijit Bute
We tried this but it did not help. We noticed this file is under the OpenPlant folder. We are using AutoPLANT piping and running a BOM straight from there we get this issue. We do get the same issue if we run a BOM from this or Isometrics.
We also tried a fresh install on a fresh Windows installation and it is coming up with the same issue.
Not sure if this helps or not, but here is the order we installed the programs on a fresh Windows 10 installation:
We use AutoPLANT, Isometrics, Equipment, and ProSteel. (I may have the names incorrect since it has been a few years since we updated)
We have tested all mentioned scenario in APMCE (10.00.00.36) similar issue we can reproduced on our side.
But seems this issue has been fixed APMCE Update1 version.
APMCE Update 1 will expected to be release at end of January 2020. Once it release we will update you.
We are having issues with the new Update 1. Images were taken with a phone sorry about the clarity.
We started off with a fresh Windows installation.
Then we updated NET framework and restarted.
Then we installed 32 bit Office and ran Access and restarted.
Then we installed AutoCAD 2019 and ran AutoCAD and restarted.
Then we installed apr6410000036en.exe (Pre-requisites) and restarted.
Then we updated the CONNECT client to the newest update and restarted.
Then we tried to install apm6410010067en.exe. It hangs at around 60% installed at this point after a popup window comes up:
After an hour of waiting we clicked Cancel on the popup window and got this error:
We restarted and tried to install again and received this error:
It seems there may be an issue with the installer? We had this issue originally, but did a fresh Windows install and downloaded the file again just to be sure. We did not have these issues installing the apm6410000036en version.
Also for note, we installed everything "Run as Administrator."
We have new release of AutoPLANT Modeler CONNECT Edition Update 1 (10.01.00.67).
With the AutoPLANT Modeler CONNECT Edition update 1 version, do not need to install Prerequisites, you just need to install one setup file apm6410010067en.exe
As per mentioned details, it seems that you have installed AutoPLANT Modeler apr6410000036en.exe (Pre-requisites) which is not part of AutoPLANT Modeler CONNECT Edition Update 1 installation.
Please follow steps to resolve the issue:
1. Kill BPcom32 domain processor through task manager
2. Uninstall apm6410010067en.exe
3. Uninstall apr6410000036en.exe
4. Delete Plant V8i folder from the path C:\ProgramData\Bentley
5. Delete Plant V8i folder from the path C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley
6.Delete Plant V8i folder from the path C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Bentley Shared
After completing the uninstallation of AutoPLANT Modeler CONNECT Edition
