In our detailed design of a model, we found the automatically generated length and length effective of a pipe with socket can't meet our request. As shown in the screen shot,
when we modeled a pipe with socket, the length is 1000 mm and length effective is 898.4 mm. Actually, for our construction request, the length should be 1000+Socket deepth=1000+101.6=1101.6 mm, the length effective should be 1000 mm. Kindly help give us suggestion on how do deal with this issue, for it would be hard for the site to provided pipe accurate size according to model information. Thank you very much.
Hi Pride_123Thanks for posting query to Bentley Plant forum, in your case you need to define COMP_LENGTH as 1101.6mm for length and define end prep length as 101.6. The end prep length can be under THR_ENG_M or SKT_DEPTH_M based on component type. Once define save the specification and place component in OpenPlant Modeler.Sample Result asTo know more on OpenPlant Modeler specification generator about spec creation, refer below wiki article

Thank you very much for your reply. It works well to creat a pipe nipple spec with COMP_LENGTH of 1101.6 and SKT_DEPTH_M of 101.6 . But how shuold we do when we model various pipe with adjustable length and with socket. We don't hope to define the COMP_LENGTH to constraint the pipe length. When we model any pipe, could the auto-generated "Length" data in design properties include the end prep length?
