We currently use the older “SQL_QUERY” extend type and “External Database Query” custom attribute that we had in V8i. We have found that the “External Database Query” causes reports to take significantly longer to generate.
Should we migrate all our picklists to use the “External Data Source Definition Mapping” custom attribute. Is the older method still supported? Would it help the reporting issue at all?
Hello Kris,
The main change was the ACE OLEDB 12.0 connection string. This should not have any major impact on reporting performance.
