I have P&ID's being generated on one data server based in India and these files are shared with a data server here in North America. There are iModels being generated automatically here in North America. When I attach any of these iModels to a model here, the consistency checker does not show up in the explorer window. If I create an iModel on the remote (India) server and attach it to a model, consistency checker works as designed. If I copy out the iModel from India and attach the local copy to a model here in North America, consistency checker does not work. I'm at a loss here. I thought that any iModel created from OpenPlant P&ID would show up in consistency checker. Is there some file dependency that I'm not aware of? Does the DataManager DB need to be on the same data server? More questions than answers here. Any thoughts or ideas of where to look would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like you have ruled out a publish issue on the PID side. Since the modeler file in NA seems to be the common failure location I would start with verifying settings in the modeler Config file. I think the critical variables are as follows.
Thanks Kris. I've checked the settings in the modeler config and they all look OK. My next plan is to review the schemas and see if they're as expected. More will be revealed!...
So, configs and schemas seem to be all as expected. I'm now trying to generate the i-Model locally on the NA server from the P&ID that was shared from UAE. When I generate the i-Model manually from the P&ID, the resulting i-Model does not show in Consistency Checker. My hope is that when the i-Model is created by our automated process, it will work.
maybe this information will help you
Hi RobbIt looks like you are trying to attach the *.imodel to workspace/project which is either different (compared to India location workspace) or you are not connected to the database.
Other potential solution is to close the Item Browser and open it again. Please note that if you are using *.imodel from V8i and trying to use in CE (CONNECT version) then there are potential limitation, and you won't be able to utilize it properly. In that situation, you can upgrade the workspace to CE and use consistency manager to upgraded workspace, that will work.
