It seems group/ungroup piping components turn them un-editable. Attached is a sample file. The lower right line is actually a pipe element modified after being ungrouped. The model was created using example Metric workset. I don't suppose this is by design of the software.

steps:
place some pipe run
select some pipe components
group (ctrl+G)
ungroup (ctrl+U)
modify any component by edit handle will corrupt it.

I have replicated the issue in the OOTB. This issue in OPM U10 is currently under review by the Product Management as it was flagged by other users as well.
