I wanted if AutoPLANT is already ISO 15926 compatible. I found a video on the www.connect.bentley.com that mentioned just briefly about this, but i would like to know where I can read more information. We currently have done quite a few projects for a client in AutoPLANT and they are now considering the OpenPLANT series. We are all concerned with how this data exchange is handled and what will we get in the end? Will it be just the data? Will we be able to exchange the data and the graphics from AutoPLANT to OpenPLANT?

Hi,
can you post the exact link to the video.
There are some plans to enable AutoPLANT to work inside an OpenPlant environment. This has yet to be fully formalised so will not mention to much. We are also currently exposing AutoPLANT project data via iRing technologies, but this should have a business context, which would not match yours above.
Glen
I'll expand a bit on Glen's reply in that our plans are to have bi-directional support of data and graphics between AutoPLANT and OpenPlant. This will be developed and delivered in stages.
The first stage will be in the AutoPLANT SS3 release with the ability to create and i-model from within a PDW session. This i-model will be structured using the OpenPlant schema. This achieves two things:
By creating the PDW i-model using the OpenPlant schema we can leverage the PDW data in an OpenPlant project combined project reviews, combined reporting and combined clash detection. The next steps will be to leverage the i-model for use with OpenPlant Isometrics Manager to create and manage isometrics deliverables and by converting it completely to an OpenPlant Modeler graphical model.
As this is all in development so please don't ask about release dates yet. I would however encourage those interested to attend the BE Conference this year or watch for the online session updates after the conference as we will be giving some more details on release plans at that time.

Ian
