Bentley SpecGen - Specification Generator - Slow loading on Rebuild

Hello,I use Bentley Specification Generator V8i (SELECT series 3) or SpecGen for short.

In the SpecGen program. I copied a template Spec in my Project. In the Spec itself; I edited the tables to filter down the 1000's of parts etc to match this projects unique requirements. Whenever I rebuild the Spec in SpecGen. The rebuilding process takes about 2 minutes to have the blue bar move from left to right. After that the bar's dialog box disappears and all you see is a "Please wait" dialog box... At this point it sits for literally 50minutes on average. (Yes I timed it.) During this I can't work on my projects and no one else can either in this project until it's done out of fear of slowing the rebuild down. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Normal Projects with their Specs tend to take considerably much less time to rebuild. The only difference is that this project in question has more filters in the tables to eliminate twice as many parts than normal projects. Considering the filters are doing their job in the rebuild blue bar dialog box step. The please wait dialog box shouldn't take this much time. My manager believes that dialog box is only updating the SpecGen Table view screen and something is holding it up for whatever reason. But we have no clue.

Added -->01/13/14 3:00pm : I've opened the spec many times in Access and used the Compact/Repair tool to help reduce the size etc but the size only goes down 1 KB. This issue is still the same after using this tool.

(I feel my knowledge is Intermediate with my understanding over The SpecGen program and the Catalogs editing etc. I'm a novice with the Access program. So forgive me if I use the wrong name of certain screens. Feel free to ask me questions if your not sure what I'm talking about.)
