I am trying to get a roll up report format for a Specification. I have dug into the OPM reports, the Spec Gen reports, and Crystal Reports to find what I want. The OPM Spec Gen report help is very simple without any examples. I don't see any training or tutorials specifically around Specification reports.
Depending on who you talk to in Bentley, we get a different answer on how reports should be run for Spec Sheets.
I can post a sample, but would like to get a feel for what tool is best for getting a Roll up based on a property, like size or nominal size. See screenshot for a preliminary look-see.
Thoughts are most welcome...

Based on your input we have created a Change Request S-102486. This will undergo evaluation by the development team.
Thanks for your input,
Hi Shawn,
I used the SpecGen report generator to do a simple dump to excel, then used Pivot tables in excel to format the data as I like. If you produce the specgen report in the exact same way every time, you can record a macro of the formatting steps in excel then just run that macro on every report. It is a bit of a workaround, but it has served me well so far.
Hope that helps!
Jesse
We basically do the same as Jesse, but use Access instead. It is pretty straight forward to get the data over from the OPM spec tables and then create a simple report in access. This is actually the way we produce Material-Take-Offs from OPM to. In my opinion an easier tool to use than Crystal reports, and does not require the license for crystal.

thanks, I will try it out.
