Extracted MTO/BOM from Report generation in MS Access Database include all component or some are missed/hide ?

Dear Bentley Family,

When we extract the MTO/BOM from Report generation in MS Access Database, whether all component are included in that single database or some component/item are missed/hide ? , because when we cross-checked this extracted database by our actual(manually calculated) MTO, we are finding the differences in quantity.

Waiting for your earliest reply.

  • That's a tough one as there are a lot of possible reasons for a difference.  I would start by looking at the following:

    1. Do you have report generator set to omit any sort codes?  If so, are there any components assigned to a sort code that would cause it to be omitted by report generator??

    2. Do you have report generator set to Ignore Existing Components?  Are there any components set to existing that are included in your manually extracted MTO?

    3. How are you selecting components for the report when the AutoPLANT Selections dialog pops up?  Are you extracting based on a single model, or a project db criteria across all models?  Are you certain you are selecting everything properly?

These items are all potential issues that could exclude some components from your report.  However, this would only be the problem if your manually extracted MTO is correct.  You would also have to verify that.  Hope some of these suggestions are of some use to you!

  • Dear Bentley Team,

    1. Do you have report generator set to omit any sort codes?  If so, are there any components assigned to a sort code that would cause it to be omitted by report generator??

A : We are having sort code from 0 to 99 only. Our all Component are having code in range of 0 to 99. The code which are above 99 are not required to us hence its omitted.

    2. Do you have report generator set to Ignore Existing Components?  Are there any components set to existing that are included in your manually extracted MTO?

A : Yes , We ignored existing component because we don't want in MTO.

    3. How are you selecting components for the report when the AutoPLANT Selections dialog pops up?  Are you extracting based on a single model, or a project db criteria across all models?  Are you certain you are selecting everything properly?

A: We are extracting single model by selecting only that piping model and manually selecting all component.

    Waiting for reply.
