I'm looking for some documentation that shows how to convert a PSDS spec and catalog to an openplant spec/catalog. The help files provide the steps for AutoPlant to OpenPlant but give very little information on PSDS to OpenPlant.
The sort of information I am seeking should cover

Hello,
Please also review the new article I've just added on how you can convert your PSDS catalogs/specs to OpenPlant format using Exchange software here: communities.bentley.com/.../13021.how-to-convert-psds-catalogspec-to-openplant-format.aspx
Let me know if you have additional questions on this.

What happens when there is no Microsoft Access database?
Should there be one when using SQL server for the database?
Is there a tool that would allow me to extract from the SQL database or Spec Maker file (.s71)?
Do I need to setup PSDS and get the full workspace from the customer?
I have a large collection of custom specs for Stainless Steel tubing and related fittings that are used in the food and beverage industry to convert for the customer who is wanting to move to the newer OpenPlant applications.
You may connect to your SQL database directly. It is just easier with Access. In the line where you would select the Access database you will need to enter your DSN for an ODBC connection, or type in the connection string directly to the database. Justinas probably has documentation to assist with this if you need it.

I have tried this several times with little success. I created catalogs just from the PIPE_PIPE tbl. When I try and add that catalog through Spec Gen it say's its not a valid catalog ! Any ideas ?
