Handling of Stainless Steel tubing Pulled Tee Joints

Has anyone implemented components in OpenPlant Modeller and Isometrics Manager for this type of joint.

My understanding is that the tee is formed by drilling a hole in the main pipe and then using a special tool, extrude the tee and trim the edge ready to weld the end of the branch line to.

Any suggestions of how to handle in OpenPlant Modeller and Isometric Manager would be useful

  • Hi davhum75,

The closest out of the box OPM component for this kind of fitting I believe would be sweepolet. You could use it, or even better derive a new custom component based on sweepolet with some special settings you need. Special settings could include a custom end conditions, details on how it is formed, etc. Component attributes, such as length, diameter would be defined in your specs.

Afterwards, regarding Isometrics you could create a custom OPM symbol for this kind of olet/branch and also exclude it from BOM (as there is no additional components here). Also, a custom note informing that this branch should be formed in this way can be added.

    Hope this helps,
