How to add a new Note and have it annotated on Page Connectors?
Purpose: Additional “note” for manual annotation of Page Connector
Requested by or related to: Many users as well as a general need to have more than one “note”
Brief Description: Adding a second “Note” property to an off page connector was never an issue in the past. At some point in the SELECTseries 4/5 release time this became impossible to do. We have been looking into this as time permits and finally have figured out how to make this work in SELECTseries 5.
In the soon to be released PowerPID release 08.11.10.202 where we have true shared schemas between OpenPlant Modeler and OpenPlant PowerPID and editing of the OpenPlant schema will be required in order to share the common properties and relationships between the two…..
You will now have a second “Note” line that will place on the Page Connector. Note that you could add
additional note properties in the same fashion.
Not sure why there is a need to go back to the OpenPlant schema but it is suspected it may have something to do
with the Definition Meta Data custom attribute and the diProp:NOTES setting on this custom attribute. It has been attempted to add this custom attribute at the OpenPlant_PID level schema and it can be added but it cannot be edited. Even if you copy the existing NOTES property in the OpenPlant_PID schema this custom attribute will not copy over.
In any case the Page Connector now has two lines of notes as you can see below.
